Dorian Aleccia has been dancing since the age of 4. She started her training at home, in Chicago, at various studios including the Chicago Dance Academy and Joel Hall Dance Center. By age 11, she was performing in a youth company, JHDC 1511, that allowed her to train as a professional and perform throughout the Chicagoland area. This level of professionalism continued, as she became the president of her dance team at The Ohio State University.
 

After graduating, Dorian moved to Los Angeles to join the Teach for America corps, while pursuing her master’s degree. Training in Los Angeles involved in-depth work in styles that have always resonated with Dorian – such as Chicago Footwork, Stepping/Strolling, Samba, Salsa, Vogue, New Orleans Bounce, and Waacking. Most of her training took place at the renowned Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studios. She also teaches private classes and all-styles dance classes for kids and adults in LA.

More recently Dorian has been combining her skill sets, working as an MC/Host. This has culminated in a 3 US tours and an upcoming international tour with Disney Junior Live, where she plays DJ, the friend of all the attendees who dances, sings, and guides them through their journey with the characters. Her connection to her community never ended as she continues to teach, dance and choreograph at two charter schools: Inner City Education Foundation (ICEF) and Girls Athletic Leadership Schools (GALS) and as of 2025 she has connected with countless schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, Disability Centers and At-Risk students and to bring dance movement to children ages 5-18.
 

As a black woman in the entertainment industry Dorian has tried to find the balance of art and activism. She has an infinite love for her culture, and she aims to use her skills as an educator and artist to continue to share the magic of it!
